Maturity — what a word! It immediately brings up images of being staid, boring and rigid, Yes? It is not true.

In the realm of the world of successful people, maturity has nothing to do with age, education, or even experiences in life.

It is also a known fact that maturity has nothing to do with being staid, or plain. That’s because the elements of maturity involve reason; and the ability to reason takes time to develop. The happiest times in our lives are times when we are thinking the most motivating, intelligent, and productive thoughts.

Therefore, as we grow in years, we really get happier, as long as we can understand how to live a productive, motivating life with a degree of reason and intelligence behind it.

SOME POINTERS ON INCULCATING MATURITY

  • The ability to do a job without supervision and without constantly being reminded.
  • The ability to carry money in your pocket without having to spend it on something.
  • The ability to carry an injustice without feeling the need for revenge.
  • The ability to anticipate — to see down the road. To see the forest for the trees
  • The ability to be discreet, to be tactful.
  • The ability to think about the repercussions and consequences of your actions or in-actions.
  • The ability to take blame when warranted.
  • The ability to learn from experience.
